Our latest design project ~ THE MOD MOBILE ~ just made her way to her new home so it’s time to celebrate her full transformation! We got this 2006 Sunnybrook Sunset Creek 279RB in NEAR perfect condition back in January. We had to do a bit of foundational work- new slide-out roof and electrical upgrades- before diving into her cosmetic MOD-ifications. We took her from drab to fab with a 1969 retro aesthetic focusing on a brighter version of your typical era identifying teal and burnt orange color scheme. Small spaces call for brights and lights not dark colors. This full figured goddess served as a landing spot for many a family and friend over the last few months and even earned herself a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating on AirBnB. We threw up a listing on Facebook Marketplace to gauge what interest would be in purchasing a beauty like this and the response was CRAZY!!! We had a number in our head of what we would sell her for and ended up getting that offer in days- from multiple people! We sold it to an awesome dude whose become a friend in the process and we have a waiting list for the next one, including a cool local musician and a bunch of people looking for a new way of living in this crazy economy. Yes, I filmed these clips with the intention to document the progression of my postpartum BODYODYODY… But when I watched the clips put together I saw something VERY different. I saw the progression of my postpartum mental health. With my history of depression and anxiety I knew I needed to be aware that PPD was a possibility for me. BUT, before I left the hospital, I was given a PPD questionnaire and I remember thinking “Wow! I passed that with flying colors! I have nothing to worry about!” And then, just about 48 hours later I was hit with a seriously scary darkness. I suddenly didn’t want to be alive. I didn’t see the point. Everything seemed too hard and like it was never going to get any better. I really thought I’d made a huge mistake becoming a mother and that I’d ruined my life. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t wash myself. Brushing my teeth felt like moving through sludge. It got SO DARK, SO FAST. By Day 5 postpartum I was in a doctor’s office sobbing, feeling like an absolute failure, consumed with guilt and paranoia. I’d been anti-medication since I got myself off meds over a decade ago and was being torn apart about accepting that I needed medical intervention for my mental state and STAT. Finally, after much battling myself, I made the decision to take the z🤍loft and I’m so SO glad I did. It snapped me back to my wonderful reality within days. I was able to begin to see the joy in motherhood and feel the gratitude for this beautiful life change. I began to feel in control of my body and mind again and SMILE. I still couldn’t eat because, as we were to find out another week later, my gallbladder had gone sour, but that’s a whole nother story for a whole nother day. Soon, I will begin weaning off the meds as I never wanted to have to take them long term, but I don’t regret taking them for a second. I am absolutely obsessed with my baby and my new life now. I wouldn’t have it any other way. All this to say, the hormonal drop after birth is something you really can’t understand until you go through it. Don’t judge yourself.
